Jessy Lakin serves as Director of Operations and is one of the founding members of Battle Dawgs. A U.S. Army combat veteran, Jessy served eight years as a 13F Forward Observer and Brigade Targeting NCO with the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. He completed two 15-month combat deployments to Iraq.

Following his military service, Jessy dedicated his career to serving veterans and strengthening the organizations and communities that support them. His professional experience spans nonprofit leadership, veteran services, community development, advocacy, marketing, and small business ownership.

Jessy is the Founder and Chair of the Alaska Veteran Community Partnership, a statewide network of more than 240 organizations, agencies, nonprofits, veteran service organizations, and community partners working together to better serve Alaska's veterans. His advocacy has taken him throughout Alaska and to Washington, D.C., where he has worked with elected officials, government agencies, and national leaders to bring veteran issues directly to decision-makers.

As Director of Operations for Battle Dawgs, Jessy oversees organizational operations, program development, veteran outreach, community partnerships, fundraising initiatives, and strategic growth. His work is driven by a simple goal: make sure veterans have access to strong relationships, meaningful opportunities, and a community that continues to stand beside them after military service.

Jessy has also helped organize veteran forums, community events, outreach initiatives, and partnerships designed to give veterans a stronger voice and bring organizations together around the challenges facing Alaska's veteran community.

His connection to Battle Dawgs is personal. As a combat veteran himself, Jessy understands the challenges that can follow military service and the importance of purpose, connection, and having other veterans in your corner.

Outside of his work, Jessy is a father of two and enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, golfing, snowboarding, and exploring Alaska.
