Battle Dawgs Alaska Jennifer Casillo

I was born and raised in Western Colorado, on the edge of the majestic Rocky Mountains. I graduated from Colorado State University with an Electrical Engineering degree while simultaneously completing the Reserve Officer Training Corp program. Upon graduating, I was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer and served for six years on active duty in Combat Search and Rescue units in both Las Vegas, Nevada and Mildenhall, England. During that period, I deployed numerous times to Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, and 8 other countries across Europe and the Middle East. Most recently to the Horn of Africa in 2015.

I separated from active duty and joined the Air Force Reserves in October 2003 to pursue a civilian career as a helicopter pilot. I flew helicopters offshore in the Gulf of Mexico in the oil fields and conducting glacier and dog sled tours in Alaska for the next 12 years.

In 2010 I joined the Alaska Air National Guard, and went back to full time military status in 2015.  At this time I am currently serving as a Colonel in the Alaska Air National Guard as a Maintenance Group Commander assigned to the 168th Wing at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska.

Having witnessed first hand the long term effects of war on our military men and women, I am honored to be working with my fellow brothers and sisters. For a wounded veteran, the true battle just begins when they get home. Rick and I are committed to making Battle Dawgs and Alaska their healing grounds.
